1In short, for parents
- Only a parent or legal guardian can create a child's account. Children have no email address or password, cannot sign up on their own and cannot use the web dashboard.
- We collect only what the features need: listening level and sound dose, posture state, earbud events, location at the moment of a drop (with permission), goals, stars and rewards.
- We never use the microphone and never collect what is played, contacts, photos, messages or advertising identifiers.
- There are no ads, no trackers and no third-party analytics in the app, and children's data is never used for profiling or marketing or sold.
- Only you, any second parent you add and the child can see the child's data.
This notice adds to our privacy policy. Parents in the United States should also read the COPPA notice.
2Parental consent
A child's phone is paired with a 6-digit code or QR code from your account. The code works once and expires after 10 minutes.
- For a child under 13, pairing cannot start until you give a consent declaration in the app: you enter your name as parent or guardian and confirm that you agree. We record who gave it, when, and the IP address and device used, as evidence.
- For older children, you give the consents described in the privacy policy when you add them, including explicit consent for health-related measurements and consent for location at drop events. In every case consent comes from a parent, whatever age your local law sets.
- You can withdraw consent at any time by turning off permissions, stopping monitoring or removing the member. Removing a member deletes their data.
3What children can do in the app
- See their own listening, posture, stars, streaks and goals, and dress their bunny with wardrobe accessories.
- Receive cheers from their parents and play the hearing game (a game, not a test).
- Suggest changes to their own rules, which a parent can approve or decline.
- Join friends and the weekly league only if a parent turns friends on. Friends see a display name and weekly points, nothing else.
- See who can see their data on the “Who sees me” screen at any time.
Children cannot see other people's data, add parents, change who sees them or use the web dashboard.
5Schools
If you join your child to a class with the school's code, the school sees only anonymous class averages. It never sees your child's name or individual data, and no report is made unless at least 10 students reported data that week. You can leave the class at any time.
6Your rights as a parent
You can at any time:
- review your child's data in the app or the web dashboard;
- download it in Settings → Download my data;
- correct the name or birth year;
- stop further collection by turning off permissions or monitoring;
- delete your child's account and data by removing the member.
For anything else write to or use the contact form. We will check that you are the child's parent before acting.
7For kids: you and your information
Hi! This part tells you what Earbunny knows about you and who can see it.
What does Earbunny do?
Listening too loud or for too long can tire your ears. Sitting bent over for a long time can tire your neck. Earbunny helps you notice this, and gives you stars and fun things for your bunny when you build good habits.
What does it know?
- How loud your headphones are and how long you listen.
- If an earbud fell out or was left somewhere.
- If your head leaned far forward while you studied, read or played. It only knows words like “upright” or “slumped”.
- Where you were when an earbud dropped, but only if you and your family said yes. This is deleted after 7 days.
- Your stars, goals and bunny outfits.
What doesn't it know?
- What you listen to. It never sees song or video names.
- What you say. It never uses the microphone.
- Your photos, messages or contacts.
- Where you are all the time. Only when an earbud drops or gets left behind.
Who can see it?
- You.
- The parent who added you, and maybe a second parent. Look at the “Who sees me” screen to see the list.
- Friends see only your name and weekly points, and only if your parent turned friends on.
- Nobody else. No ad companies. Your information is never sold.
It's never a secret
You always know when Earbunny is on. Every 30 days it reminds you who can see your information.
If something feels wrong
Talk to your family. You can turn things off together or delete your account, and then your information is deleted too. You can also tell a teacher or another adult you trust, or ask them to write to us at .
Remember
Earbunny is not a doctor. If your ears hurt or ring, or your neck hurts, tell a grown-up.
